Gaines family announces sale of Daily News to Boone Newspapers

After 140 years of local ownership by the Gaines family of Bowling Green, it was announced Tuesday that an agreement has been reached to sell the Bowling Green Daily News to Carpenter Newsmedia LLC, an affiliate of Boone Newspapers Inc., a family-owned organization based in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
